Radio Viascity 100.5FM Donates Food Items to Quarantine Homes

In a bid to complement Government’s efforts geared towards combating COVID-19 in the country, the Radio Viascity 100.5 FM situated at Waterloo in the Western Rural Area District has on Sunday 7th June, 2020 donated a consignment of food items worth millions of Leones to Quarantine Homes within the Central Part of Freetown.

The items that were donated include Bags of Rice, Bags of Onion, Bags of Sugar, Gallons of Oil etc.

Speaking to this Press, Deputy Station Manager of Radio Viascity, Augustine W. Lebbie, expressed appreciation to officials of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for the tireless efforts they have been putting towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, adding that as a responsible media institution they thought it fit to dish out the consignment of food items to Quarantined Homes within the Freetown municipality on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Hadija Aminata Kabba and Management and that they are doing so with the strong belief that such could be helpful especially at this decisive moment.

He encouraged them to utilize the said items for their intended purposes and to also continue to observe the preventive measures in order to curtail the spread of the covid-19 in the country.

He also admonished to strictly practice what the Government, through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and other stakeholders have put together in terms of the protective measures that have been outlined stressing how all must treat with all amount of seriousness the advices that these experts are churning out.

He commended the Chief Executive Officer of Radio Viascity ,Hadija Aminata Kabba, for her tireless support in making the donation a success.

Mabinty Kamara, a beneficiary, expressed appreciation to Radio Viascity for the kind gesture in terms of  remembering them in this difficult time and that the said the donation came in at the right time when they are fraught with many challenges especially food items.

She assured them that the items will be used for the intended purpose and encouraged all to adhere to the preventives measures in order to curtail the spread of the virus in the country saying such will enhance the country’s potency to have an upper hand over COVID-19 in the country.
