The Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL) has gained national appeal and acceptance as Pastors across the various regions of Sierra Leone have taken ownership of it.
Pastors in the different regions intimated how they now feel belonged to PFSL going further to state that they have taken ownership of the organization simply because the current Executive reached out to them with open hearts which they described as unprecedented.
PFSL visitation, familiarization and interaction have reached 13 places such as Makeni, Magburaka, Kono, Bo, Lumley, Tombo/Peninsula, Kissy Dockyard, Regent, Lungi, Pujehun, Kenema, Segbwema/Daru and Kailahun.
It was understood that the PFSL Executive recently visited the South-Eastern region of Sierra Leone where they met with Pastors and elders in Pujehun, Kenema, Daru, Segbwema and Kailahun from the 17th to the 21st June 2021.
During a warm reception, Pastors gathered at the Winners’ Chapel International, Gbondapi Road, Pujehun to listen to the good news of God’s servants.
In Kenema Pastors converged at the Door Christian Fellowship Church, Kengeh Street, where the PFSL Executive explained their mission and vision for the Body of Christ and the same was done in Segbwema/ Daru and in Kailahun at the Adullam Bible Church.
Sister Kadiatu Kanu of Winners’ Chapel, Pujehun described the gathering as timely stating that from her experience it was difficult for one to locate a church in that region due to the faith of some residents.
She pointed out that they need somebody like the President of PFSL, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly, to guide men of God in that region.
“If they are under Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly leadership, they can do more, reach out for more souls. If the body of Christ is united, they will be able to accomplish their goals,” she opined adding that one of the teachings state that in unity there is strength and with God all things are possible and they can be able to move beyond their limits.
Pastor Francis Sullaman Senesie of the New Harvest Global Ministries described the gathering as very apt and one that brought peace and unity to the Body of Christ.
He further described the teachings they received as very educative and interesting and spoke on the need for empowerment in order to win more souls for Christ.
Pastor Abednego Hindawa of Consuming Fire Ministry, Pujehun Branch, said they now feel belonged as the PFSL reached out to them in a unique way.
The PFSL Executive and the Vision of the Executive was presented by the President of the PFSL and General Overseer of Living Word of Faith Outreach Ministries International, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly who disclosed that other denominations beside the Pentecostal Churches are also yearning to be part of PFSL.
He went on to disclose that the PFSL was established 16 years ago in Sierra Leone and they have set out clear defined goals which include rotational meetings and visitation among others.
He added that various parts of the country are now waiting for PFSL also revealing how chapters have been formed in areas they visited. The team also took time to minister to Pastors.
Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly informed his audience that he will build on the good foundation set up by his predecessors through the Seven Vision Pillars God has given to him to focus on for the next four years of his administration which covers the:
- Unity of the body
- Harnessing collective strength: Harnessing the strength of the Pentecostal and Charismatic community in Sierra Leone
- Growth and expansion: to ensure greater national impact for growth and expansion of the body
- Collaboration/communication
- Diaspora
- Self – Regulation
- Visibility and stability
He spoke about the need to have a single register that has the names and addresses of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches and emphasized on the importance of Churches registering with the PFSL.
PFSL General Secretary, Rabbi Tamba Mbayo gave a synopsis of the organization and a report on the first seven months of the current Executive’s activities.
