Stats SL and UNICEF have formalized their partnership to conduct the seventh round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS-7 2024) with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday August 1, 2024.
The MoU outlines the roles and responsibilities of both organizations, ensuring a collaborative approach to the survey. It emphasizes financial accountability and efficient resource management to guarantee the survey’s success.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the UNICEF Country Representative, Rudolf Schwenk, Stats SL’s Statistician General and CEO Andrew Bob Johnny, Directors and staff of Stats SL, the Project Coordinator of HISWA, the MICS-7 Lead Consultant and members of the press.
UNICEF Country Representative, Rudolf Schwenk, expressed his appreciation for Stats SL’s continuous support in conducting the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey. He reaffirmed UNICEF’s commitment to the MoU and its role in helping collect credible data on the conditions of women and children in Sierra Leone.
Andrew Bob Johnny, Stats SL’s Statistician General and CEO, thanked UNICEF for its partnership and highlighted the successful and longstanding collaboration between the two organizations. He reiterated Stats SL’s dedication to conducting the MICS-7 2024 survey with excellence.
The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey is a crucial household survey assessing the situation of women and children in Sierra Leone. The data collected will inform policy decisions and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of women, youth and children across the country.
The event concluded with the formal signing of the MoU, reinforcing both parties’ commitment to credible data collection for national development.
