Rt. Hon. Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, the former Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament and current Member of Parliament for Pujehun District, has made a significant donation of Three Hundred Million Leones (Le 300,000,000) to the Women of Moyamba district, along with five motorbikes for the youth. This gesture, made on Saturday, 7th December 2024, aligns with his commitment to empowering the people of Sierra Leone, particularly women and youth, to foster sustainable growth in the country’s key regions.
The donation serves as direct micro-credit support to boost the businesses of women in Moyamba, offering them the opportunity to grow their entrepreneurial ventures. This initiative is also in line with the BIG FIVE GAME CHANGER Agenda of President Julius Maada Bio, which emphasizes transformative socio-economic empowerment.
Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis’ visit to Moyamba was made at the invitation of his fellow Members of Parliament from the district, marking a unique effort to bring parliamentary work closer to the people. The visit highlights his ongoing commitment to promoting empowerment within the community through both financial support and advocacy.
