She secured a commanding 21 votes against her opponent’s 9 votes in what was widely regarded as a transparent electoral process.
Despite initial speculation that Ann Marie Baby Harding’s candidacy might be influenced by her husband, Dr. Prince Alex Harding, the current National Chairman of the SLPP, it was the people of her constituency who fervently encouraged her to assume political leadership.
