VP Juldeh Jalloh Joins President Bio for Landmark SLPP Regional Office Groundbreaking in Kenema

The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Deputy Leader of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Saturday, May 9, 2026 joined President Julius Maada Bio in Kenema for the turning of the sod ceremony marking the commencement of construction for the party’s regional office at the Show Field.

The ceremony attracted a large gathering of party supporters, government officials, traditional leaders, and dignitaries from different parts of the country, underscoring what party members described as an important milestone for the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party in the Eastern Region.

Vice President attended the event in support of President Bio, who also serves as the Leader of the SLPP, as the party officially launched the construction of the regional office, a project expected to strengthen the party’s administrative presence and coordination efforts in the region.

Addressing supporters during the ceremony, President Julius Maada Bio said the proposed office would not only serve the people of Kenema but would also benefit the entire Eastern Province. He described the initiative as part of broader efforts to consolidate the party’s organizational structures and improve coordination among members and supporters across the region.

President Bio emphasized the importance of unity and collective participation in ensuring the successful completion of the project, calling on party faithful, supporters, and well-wishers to contribute toward the construction of the regional office.

He stressed that every contribution, regardless of size, would be meaningful to the realization of the project and encouraged members to take ownership of the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen and sustain the growth of the party.

The President further urged SLPP supporters to continue working together in solidarity, noting that unity and commitment remain critical to advancing the party’s vision and objectives.

On his part, Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Deputy Leader of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh commended President Bio for what he described as visionary leadership aimed at strengthening the Sierra Leone People’s Party across the country.

He noted that the construction of the regional office would create an important administrative hub for party activities, while fostering stronger unity, engagement and coordination among members in the Eastern Province.

The Vice President further encouraged SLPP supporters to remain united and committed to the growth and development of the party, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in achieving shared political goals. He also urged members and well-wishers to support the project in any way possible, emphasizing that the successful completion of the office would benefit not only the party but also future generations of supporters in the region.

According to SLPP Party Chairman, Jimmy Batilo Songa, the regional office is expected to provide adequate administrative space for party operations and facilitate the effective coordination of SLPP activities throughout the Eastern Province.

Party officials described the project as a strategic investment aimed at enhancing engagement with supporters, improving internal coordination, and strengthening the party’s institutional presence in the region.

The groundbreaking ceremony forms part of ongoing efforts by the Sierra Leone People’s Party leadership to reinforce party structures and expand operational capacity across the country.
