It could be recalled that in one of our previous publications it was indicated that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone has embarked on touring the provinces in order to forge alliances and win souls for Christ.
Within that context, the Executive of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL) continues its first year vision of reaching every district with its familiarization and interactive sessions with their constituents.
The tour, which started on the 12th October 2021, at the Christ Solution Center Ministries, Kamakwie, Karene District, continued at Christian Reform Church (CRC), Kabala, Koinadugu District and ended on Thursday 14th October 2021 at the Lunsar Baptist Church.
Outlining the purpose of their visit, the President of PFSL and General Overseer of Living Word of Faith Outreach Ministries International, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly informed his audience that their visit is to take PFSL to the people.
He said PFSL is not an individual fellowship but one that represents the Body of Christ in Sierra Leone, stressing on the importance for Pastors to act on behalf of the Church. He emphasized that the image of the Pentecostals in Sierra Leone needs to be visible nationally and internationally as the Pentecostal Church has gone through lots of attacks and humiliation over the past years.
Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly went on to say that he will build on the good foundation set up by his predecessors through the seven vision pillars for the next four years in PFSL: Unity of the body, Harnessing collective strength: Harnessing the strength of the Pentecostal and Charismatic community in Sierra Leone, Growth and expansion: to ensure greater national impact for growth and expansion of the body, Collaboration/communication, Diaspora, Self – Regulation, Visibility and Stability
“I will work towards the proper development of a “brother’s keeper mentality. We need to come together, build strength and change the story of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches in this nation.”
Rev. Alusine Kargbo of Christ Solution Center Ministries introduced PFSL to the Head of Section Chiefs, Kamakwie Section, Sella Limba Chiefdom, Pa Alimany Alijah Soko Turay.
In his brief statement, Pa Alimany expressed joy to witness such a gathering. He spoke about love for one another despite their religious background.
Pa Alimany asked the PFSL President to help them share the good message about Kamakwie based on the development they have seen. He said that Karene is no longer a village.
The PFSL President thanked Pa Alimany Alhaji Soko Turay for honoring the invitation sent to him by the Rev. Alusine and for the good work he is doing in the chiefdom.
He said that shows the cordial relationship they have in that district. He also spoke about the cordial relationship between Christians and non-Christians.
The newly established PFSL members of Kamakwie and Koinadugu chapters described the visit as timely. They said it was a dream come true as they were yearning to see God’s anointed men in those districts.
During the three-day tour, different sessions were conducted as a means of empowering Pastors in line with the scripture in Amos 3:3; “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Among other speakers, Rev. Ade Beckley spoke about “The Enemy Call Carnality”, Rev. Lamin Kabia spoke on “Truth and love in the Inward Parts”, while Apostle Shiaka Kamara spoke about “Leadership and Loyalty”.
A brief history, report on PFSL seven months Exco activities, PFSL membership and registration drive was done by Rabbi Tamba Mbayo.
Appointment of interim executive officers for Karene District and Koinadugu Districts were done by PFSL Exco.
The trip in Lunsar was unplanned and the PFSL President had to go there because the Pastors in that part of the country were already gathered and waiting for him. The Bishop and his team on arriving at Lunsar were welcomed by Pastor James and the rest of the Pastors in the township.
Speaking to the Pastors, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly made it clear that those who will abide forever are those who take their eyes off the things of the world.
“Material things will pass away but the people who do the will of God will abide forever. May we set our eyes on what God has set before us and not look away from Christ.”
The Bishop stressed the need for faithful people in Ministry. He said God does not tolerate unprofitable workers, quoting Matt25:30. He prayed that everything in their hands will become better as they labour in God’s vineyard.
