Cowbell Welcomes Pupils Back to School with Good Nutrition Campaign in Freetown

Cowbell, a popular brand under Premium Divine Trading Company Ltd, a food distribution and marketing company that operates as an agent for Promasidor, a leading supplier of quality food products to more than 30 African countries, including Sierra Leone, on Wednesday, 18th September 2024, kicked off its ‘Back to School with Good Nutrition’ Campaign , beginning with visits to Peninsular Junior Secondary School in Waterloo and Kelly’s Rural Vocational Agricultural Secondary School in Hastings.

The campaign aims to reach 20 schools across Freetown, promoting the importance of good nutrition among pupils. As part of the initiative, the company conducted wet sampling of Cowbell and Twisco products, offering pupils the opportunity to taste their range of nutritious offerings just after devotions.

In addition to the product sampling, cartons of Cowbell and Twisco were presented to the administration of each school, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to supporting education and well-being in Sierra Leone’s schools.

This initiative is expected to strengthen the relationship between the company and local educational institutions, encouraging healthy consumption habits among pupils as they embark on the new academic year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Kenneth Konuah, Country Manager of Premium Divine Trading Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting good nutrition among pupils.

He explained that, as a responsible company, Premium Divine Trading Ltd. undertook the initiative to raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition, particularly by encouraging the consumption of Twisco and Cowbell products, which he highlighted as being rich in protein, calcium and vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K collectively known as Vitarich.

Kenneth Konuah further explained that the company is actively promoting the consumption of quality food products in Sierra Leone.

He stated that the initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to raise awareness about good nutrition, demonstrating the company’s care for the wellbeing of Sierra Leoneans.

The Country Manager concluded by urging the pupils to take their studies seriously, noting that education is key to their future.

He also pointed out that Cowbell supports brain development and encouraged them to choose Cowbell products as well as Twisco product which he said is new in the market, as they will enhance their academic performance.

Adama Bangura, Vice Principal, Peninsular Junior Secondary School in Waterloo, expressed appreciation to Cowbell for selecting their school as part of the benefiting schools of the Cowbell Back to School with Good Nutrition Campaign .

She revealed that this is the first time that her school is benefiting from such an initiative that promote good nutrition, adding that she is more than pleased that the company did not only raise the awareness about good nutrition but also did a wet sample for all pupils of the school which is close to a thousand as well as donating to the school administration cartoons of cowbell and Twisco products.

Adama Bangura assured that they will continue where the company left in educating the pupils on the importance of good nutrition especially consuming cowbell and Twisco products which she said after partaking in the wet sampling of these products she can boldly say the products are rich in protein, calcium and vitamins.

Osman Conteh, Senior Teacher at Kelly’s Rural Vocational Agricultural Secondary School, expressed his deep appreciation for Cowbell’s Back to School Visit initiative, calling it not only significant but also exceptionally timely, given the vital role good nutrition plays in the growth and development of pupils.

He further urged Cowbell to sustain and expand such efforts, stating that these visits serve a dual purpose: not only do they educate pupils about the importance of good nutrition, but they also empower them to become ambassadors for healthy eating habits within their schools and communities.

Osman Conteh concluded by expressing his optimism that with continued support from companies like Cowbell, the younger generation will not only thrive academically but also grow into healthier, more productive citizens.

Shadiatu Sesay, a pupil of the Peninsular Junior Secondary School in Waterloo, extended heartfelt gratitude to Cowbell for the Back to School with good nutrition initiative, adding that the visit has not only been educational but also truly inspiring, furthering that the knowledge they gained about the importance of good nutrition and how it directly impacts their growth, health and learning is invaluable.

“Cowbell has shown us that you care deeply about our wellbeing and by promoting healthy eating, especially with your nutritious products that was sampled, you are helping us build stronger foundations for both our education and the future. Your support means a lot to us, and we are grateful for the emphasis you placed on how proper nutrition can enhance our brain development and academic performance,” she maintained.

Shadiatu Sesay,  on behalf of the pupils, promised to carry this message forward not just in their own lives but also in their homes and communities. “We will be ambassadors of Cowbell, ensuring that more people buy Cowbell products. Once again, thank you, Cowbell, for believing in us and investing in our future.”

The Cowbell Back to School with Good Nutrition initiative , which commenced on Wednesday, 18th September 2024, at Peninsular Junior Secondary School in Waterloo and Kelly’s Rural Vocational Agricultural Secondary School in Hastings, continued the following day at Fattarahman Primary & Junior Secondary School and Dr. S.M. Broadrick Secondary School.

The visit continued to the Government Model Secondary School and Government Rokel Secondary School. The initiative will be running over a two-weeks period, during which more schools will be visited, with a total of 20 schools targeted by the end of the campaign.
