Africell Sierra Leone, on the 7th May 2021 donated food items as Zakat to Muslims who are observing the Holy Month of Ramada nationwide. The donation formed part of the company’s annual Ramadan donation to support the Muslim community.

According to Abdul Aziz Kamara, Africell Head of Events and Sponsorship, the company this year distributed food items worth millions of Leones that include rice, oil, sugar, milk, onions and tomatoes as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility and to show their solidarity with all Muslims during this fasting period.

He explained that, as a company, they are giving support to every Sierra Leonean including the Christian community, but during this Ramadan month they are going around the country to support Muslim brothers and sisters with Zakat during the last ten days of the fasting.

Abdul Aziz Kamara informed the Muslim community that Africell is a religious tolerant company having employees from all religious background. He also assured that the company would not only limit its gesture to food items, as they will also provide Public Attention (PA) Systems on Pray day for the community or Mosques who cannot afford it.

He then conveyed the company’s Managing Director’s message to all Muslims nationwide and wished them a blessed Ramadan.

Commending the company, Imams around the country thanked the Africell Management and Staff for standing with them during this holy month of Ramadan and for providing food that will help the poor.
