New Life Ministries International Women’s Department held its 26th National Women’s Conference under the theme, “EMERGE,” bringing together women from across Sierra Leone for six days of worship, prayer, biblical teachings and fellowship aimed at strengthening their faith and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to society.
The conference took place from October 6 to 11, 2026, at the ministry’s headquarters, Miracle City, Ross Road, Cline Town, Freetown. Participants came from Kailahun, Bo, Kenema, Bonthe, Pujehun, Kabala, Makeni, Kambia, Freetown and other communities.
Speaking to journalists, Rev. Mrs. Irene Cole, Co-General Overseer and International Women’s Supervisor, described the gathering as an important platform for women’s spiritual growth, personal development and empowerment.
Reflecting on the department’s 26-year journey, she recalled that the inaugural conference was held under the theme, “Give the Daughters Their Possession.” She attributed its continued success to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of women within the ministry.
Explaining “EMERGE,” Rev. Mrs. Irene Cole said the theme encouraged women to overcome challenges, recognize their potential and embrace greater responsibilities and leadership opportunities.
“We want to see women move from the bottom and emerge to the top,” she declared.
The conference featured morning teachings, evening revival services, special prayers, a Women of Influence Prayer Breakfast, a Mother’s Summit and a Grand Finale Thanksgiving Service.
A free shopping exercise for eligible members was held on October 9, reflecting the department’s commitment to generosity and mutual support.
The Women of Influence Prayer Breakfast took place on October 10 at the Methodist Women’s Hall, Kingharman Road, followed by the Mother’s Summit, where women gathered in white attire and traditional wrappers for intercessory prayers.
Rev. Mrs. Irene Cole stressed the importance of mothers praying for their children and Sierra Leone, particularly amid growing concerns over Kush abuse among young people.
She urged mothers to strengthen their commitment to protecting, guiding and nurturing children against drug abuse and other social challenges.
“We are taking the battle to the enemy’s gate,” she declared, emphasizing prayer and collective action.
Prominent speakers included keynote speaker Rev. (Mrs.) Felicia Neufville from Liberia; Apostle Francess Razaak Koroma, Missions Director and District Superintendent for Bo District; and Rev. (Mrs.) Waltina May-Garber, Vice-President at Headquarters. Rev. Mrs. Irene Cole served as Chief Convener.
His Grace Bishop J. Archibald Cole, General Overseer, also delivered an inspiring message centred on spiritual transformation and God’s promises.
Drawing from Genesis 17:15–16, he referenced God’s transformation of Sarai into Sarah, explaining that faith could bring renewed identity, purpose and blessings.
“Are you going through a test? God is about to give you a testimony,” he declared, encouraging believers facing hardship and disappointment to remain hopeful.
The conference concluded on October 11 with a thanksgiving service celebrating the gathering’s achievements.
After 26 years, the annual conference continues to strengthen Christian fellowship, women’s leadership and community development, encouraging participants to carry the message of “EMERGE” into their families, churches and communities while promoting faith, resilience and lasting positive transformation across Sierra Leone.
