Celebrating International Women’s Day… Leone Rock Metal Group Distributes Food Supplements to the Less Privileged

Leone Rock Metal Group, an iron ore mining company, on the 8th March 2022, which was International Women’s Day, undertook the distribution of food supplements in the form of rice, cooking oil, onions, salt etc to over 200 less privileged households in the capital, Freetown.

The donation exercise saw representative of the company including all the female workers taking to the streets of Freetown at various points such as the Cotton Tree, Pademba Road, Wilberforce Street, Lumley, Mountain Cut and Beach Road to donate to the less privileged especially women.

At all the points, recipients were very delighted and expressed their greatest satisfaction for the donation done to them.

Meanwhile, the company sees that donation as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in providing for the needy.

In a separate form, the company also donated the sum of ten million Leones (Le10, 000, 0000) to the Association of Women in Tourism to help them organize their International Women’s Day programmes in tourism at the Palace Bar, Lumley Beach, Freetown.
