Cowbell, one of the products marketed by Premium Divine Trading  Company Ltd., a food distribution company that operates as an agent for Promasidor a leading supplier of quality food products in more than 30 African countries, including Sierra Leone on Friday, March 14, 2025, donated an assortment of cartoons of products, including Miski, Cowbell, Kremela and Twisco, to the United Council of Imams.

The handing-over ceremony, held at the Gaddafi Mosque, Rokupa Junction, East End of Freetown, was part of the company’s annual Ramadan Iftar initiative to support Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan. The event, which brought together Imams from various mosques in the Western Area, aimed to distribute the donated items to them.

Handing over the items, Kenneth Konuah, the Country Manager of Premium Divine Trading Ltd., emphasized the significance of the company’s partnership with the United Council of Imams, stating that it was the first time they were directly engaging with the leadership of the spiritual fathers of Sierra Leone.

“For years, we have made it a tradition to support Muslims during Ramadan, but what makes this year special is our direct collaboration with the United Council of Imams. We are delighted to strengthen this bond,” Kenneth Konuah said.

He reiterated the company’s commitment to providing high-quality food products, including milk powder, beverages and cereals, to support communities during the holy month. He also highlighted the spiritual importance of Ramadan and the blessings associated with giving back during this sacred period.

Beyond the donation, Kenneth Konuah revealed that Premium Divine Trading Ltd. would embark on a nationwide outreach program, visiting 50 mosques across Sierra Leone. The initiative will include wet product sampling to allow more people to experience the quality of their products firsthand.

“Our message to all Sierra Leoneans during this Ramadan is to keep the faith, pray for the progress of our country and support one another in love and unity,” the Country Manager added.

He further emphasized the company’s commitment to ensuring that Sierra Leoneans have access to nutritious food products, praising Cowbell milk for its rich protein, calcium and vitamin content. He also noted that the products, manufactured by Promasidor Ghana Limited, are exported to several West African countries, including Sierra Leone.

The Country Manager concluded by stating that the donation underscores Premium Divine Trading Ltd.’s continued dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility and fostering national development through nutrition and community support.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the United Council of Imams, Alhaji Ibrahim Mans Kanu, General Secretary of the Council, applauded Cowbell for extending the kind gesture, especially during Ramadan.

He acknowledged that while the company has supported various mosques over the years, the Council was particularly pleased that this year’s donation was channeled directly through them. He assured that the donated products would be fairly distributed among Imams in the Western Area for use in their mosques.

Alhaji Kanu concluded by urging other companies to follow the example set by Cowbell in supporting Muslims during Ramadan. He also reassured that the donated items would be used judiciously to benefit the intended recipients.

The event underscored the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and strengthened the collaboration between the private sector and religious institutions in supporting communities during significant religious observances. It concluded with the official handing over of the assorted products by Kenneth Konuah, Country Manager of Premium Divine Trading Ltd., to Alhaji Ibrahim Mans Kanu, General Secretary of the United Council of Imams.

This was followed by a wet sampling session at the United Council of Imams Mosque in Kissy, East End of Freetown, marking the official commencement of the nationwide wet sampling initiative across 50 mosques in Sierra Leone.
