First Lady Provides Food Condiments For Don Bosco Fambul

On Tuesday 18th August 2020 the First Lady, Madam Fatima Maada Bio offered assorted food items to the beneficiaries of Don Bosco Fambul at their new facilities at During Town, Waterloo-Tombo Highway.

It could be recalled that on August 6th 2020, the First Lady made an emphatic promise to the Management and staff of Don Bosco Fambul to provide food items for their beneficiaries that could last for at least a month.

Madam Fatima Maada Bio made the promise during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Don Bosco Fambul, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Sierra Leone Police, the Aberdeen Women’s Centre, Rainbo Initiative and Legal Access for Women Yearning for Equal Right and Social Justice (L.A.W.Y.E.R.S). The objective of the MoU is to establish an efficient approach in the fight against sexual penetration of young girls and other forms of domestic violence in Sierra Leone.

It could be recalled that on 6th August 2020, the First Lady laid emphasis on the zest and determination her husband, President Julius Maada Bio and his Government have to deal with perpetrators of sexual offences and domestic violence and how to end the menace in Sierra Leone.

She further stated that to augment what Don Boaco is doing especially in the area of protecting the dignity of young girls and the empowerment of young people in Sierra Leone she will provide assorted food items for the beneficiaries that will last for a month.

On Tuesday 18 August, 2020,  the Chief of Staff in the Office of the First Lady, Sheik Salim Feika and other officials delivered 200 of 25 Kg bags of rice, 3 cartoons maggi, 6 five gallon of cooking oil, 10 bags of sugar and other condiment.

The Director of Don Bosco Fambul, Father Jorge Mario Crisafulli in his remarks thanked the First Lady for her magnanimity towards the beneficiaries of Don Bosco. Father Jorge furthered that he is admiring the determination and passion the First Lady has in restoring the dignity of young girls in Sierra Leone. He concluded by praying for the Office of the First Lady, the Government and the entire country for peace to reign.

The beneficiaries also thanked the First Lady for her gesture towards their livelihood. They stated that Don Bosco is doing tremendously well for the young people of Sierra Leone. They said they are eating three delicious meals a day and medication is been provided for them. They concluded by calling on the Government and other citizens to emulate the gesture of Madam First Lady towards them.
