Friends of Morris Support Fire Victims at 34 Military Hospital

As part of continuing their humanitarian gestures towards the health sector in order to support the Wellington November 5 Fuel Tanker Fire Victims, who are currently hospitalized in the country, Friends of Morris, a Non- Governmental Charity Organization under the dynamic leadership of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a Sierra Leonean based in the United States of America, Morris Koroma, on the 15th November, 2021 donated assorted medical items to the 34 Military Hospital.

The donated items were presented to the Deputy Matron of the 34 Military Hospital, Major Marion Dumbuya, at the Hospital premises by a cross-section of members of the Friends of Morris Charity Organization.

Handing over the items on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the President of Friends of Morris Charity Organization, David Tucker commended health workers for the tremendous work they have been doing since the occurrence of the incident.

He maintained that as a responsible organization that seeks the welfare of all they saw it befitting to donate the assorted medical supplies to the 34 Military Hospital adding how they are of the strong conviction that such could be helpful towards the treatment of the hospitalized fire victims.

David Tucker maintained that Friends of Morris is a registered Non- Governmental charitable organization (NGO) based in Freetown with the aim to alleviate poverty and facilitate lasting change in the lives of the most vulnerable children and families living in urban slums in the country of which he said over the years they have been providing support for children through education, health, and livelihood programmes as well as for children with special needs.

He revealed that their work remains focused on the most vulnerable living in slums, as they continue to maintain the personal community involvement that has become the trademark of their organization, adding that last year they supported approximately 500 children and their families through their different programmes of which 50 are supported through child sponsorship.

On behalf of the organization he assured of their continuous support towards national development.

Receiving the donation, the Deputy Matron of the 34 Military Hospital Major Marion Dumbuya, expressed appreciation to the Friends of Morris organization for what he described as a timely donation geared towards supporting the hospital with the medical items.

She described the donated items as mostly needed by the patients of which she assured the organization that the items will be used for their intended purposes.

Climaxing the ceremony was the official handing over  of the items to the Deputy Matron of the 34 Military Hospital Major, Marion Dumbuya, by the President of Friends of Morris Charity Organization, David Tucker and members present.
