IGP Sellu Beefs Up the Police Force  with Vehicles & Drones  ahead of June 24 Elections 

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Augustine Magnus Kailie has unveiled and distributed twenty-five (25) brand new vehicles, and ten (10) Drone cameras to various Regions and Divisions across the length and breadth of the country on the 29th May,2023 as part of the Sierra Leone Police preparedness and readiness to effectively and sufficiently police the multi-tier elections.

Among the twenty-five vehicles, ten (10) were Isuzu Trucks (personnel carriers) and fifteen (15) were Toyota Land Cruisers in a bid to capacitate personnel in line with effective service delivery.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, who was representing the IGP admonished personnel to take good care of the newly procured vehicles and Drone cameras for their intended purposes, noting that the items were bought from taxpayers’ money to enhance police effectiveness and improve on SLP’s response time.

DIG Kailie further disclosed that the SLP is moving in line with technological advancements to enable the Police to do their work effectively.

He also admonished the Fourth Estate to serve as a watchdog when it comes to mis-management of the items and report to the appropriate authorities for action to be taken against any defaulter and cautioned Police personnel to be professional

Climaxing the ceremony was the inspection of the vehicles and the Drone cameras.
