Independent Representative of Qnet-SL Donates to Calabash Newspaper

Infinity, the independent representative of Qnet-Sierra Leone, as a way of  following best practice,  on Monday 10th April, 2023 donated Ramadan gifts to The Calabash Newspaper during a snap but momentous event took place at the office of The Calabash Newspaper on 79 Campbell Street in Freetown.

Presenting the items, which included bags of rice, cooking oil and onions, was the Infinity Head of Security, Abubakar Marrah, who stated that he is extremely happy on behalf of his company to present such gifts to The Calabash Newspaper during the month of Ramadan.

He went on to point out that the relationship between The Calabash and his company has been very cordial and stressed that the importance of a sound media cannot be overemphasized.

He urged The Calabash staff to continue the good work they have been doing, adding that the Newspaper is one of the few in Sierra Leone that provides correct, unbiased, balanced and fair news reports.

Receiving the items, Managing Editor of the newspaper, Amin Kef (Ranger) thanked the Infinity representative for the donated items. He said it is good that they singled out his medium for the donation, adding that “this serves as a form of motivation as we fight bad news and it is a boost for us to do more for the overall development of the country.” He recalled that the company at one time suffered bad press but with professionalism exhibited by The Calabash in investigating and reporting accurately certain related issues devoid of subjectivity, the company was vindicated of all alleged and unfounded wrong-doing. He thanked and appreciated them for the items.

Also expressing their thanks and appreciation was a senior staff of The Calabash Newspaper, Foday Moriba Conteh. He re-echoed the good relationship between Infinity, the independent representative of Qnet-SL and stressed the importance of the media in aiding the overall development of the country, adding that The Calabash will continue to do its best at reporting the news in an accurate manner.

Apart from The Calabash Newspaper, Infinity, the independent representative of Qnet-Sierra Leone is presenting Ramadan gifts to other institutions and beneficiaries in Sierra Leone.
