Mercury International, Sierra Leone’s leading betting company, has handed over a brand-new Suzuki car to Sorie Mansaray, the grand prize winner of the company’s “Start of Season Raffle Draw”. The event took place on January 10, 2025 at the New Sella Spot on Kingharman Road in Freetown, where the runner-up was also awarded a cash prize of NLe 5,000.

The raffle, launched as part of Mercury International’s “Start of Season Raffle Draw,” commenced on August 1, 2024 and concluded on January 1, 2025. Participants needed to place a minimum bet of NLe 25 on any sport and play at least 10 bets weekly to qualify for the draw. Bets placed using Mercury bonuses, free bets or those involving cancelled games or early cash-outs were deemed invalid.

Although he was unable to attend the event, Mercury International’s Managing Director, Martin Edward Michael, addressed attendees via a video message. He congratulated the winners, citing a previous raffle winner who turned his prize into a profitable business. He encouraged recipients to maximize the benefits of their winnings and announced plans for more promotions, including opportunities to win motorbikes, car and other prizes.

Octovus Jackson, Deputy Online Manager, detailed the raffle process, emphasizing transparency. He explained that winners were selected through a 3D drawing conducted by UK-based service providers. He also unveiled the “Champion’s League Raffle,” set to begin on January 15, 2025, with reduced stakes to account for economic challenges. Additionally, the “Reward Hub” program was introduced, allowing customers to earn points for every NLe 25 bet, redeemable for items at Mercury International’s store.

Sorie Mansaray, a 25-year-old Public Administration student at Milton Margai Technical University, shared his excitement and gratitude for the win. A regular bettor, Sorie Mansaray often placed bets of up to NLe 500. Initially skeptical when informed of his victory, he was ecstatic when it proved genuine. Sorie plans to use the car to support his family and further his education, encouraging others to participate in similar raffles for their chance at success.

Mercury International continues to showcase its dedication to rewarding loyal customers and transforming lives. With more promotions on the horizon, the company reaffirms its position as Sierra Leone’s premier betting platform, offering life-changing opportunities to its clientele.
