Someone jokingly said that it seems that the country’s foremost importer and marketer of petroleum products in the country, the National Petroleum-Sierra Leone Limited (NP-SL Ltd) is considered by every Award-Given institution in this country, as the company continues to bag awards and not just ordinary ones but prestigious ones. To that another retorted that in life no matter how long, for every good thing done to better the lives of others, there will definitely be a corresponding reward.

It was against such a backdrop that on the 5th January 2022 the Management of NP-SL Ltd warmly welcomed the organizers of the 4th Edition of the Bai Bureh Awards, the Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation, to their Head Office on Siaka Stevens Street where the handing over of a prestigious Award to the Management of the company, in full view of members of the Fourth Estate, was done. It happened that way since there was no representative of the company present in Port Loko District on the 27th December 2021 when the actual awards ceremony took place.

Present were the organizers, the Chief Executive Officer of NP-SL Ltd, Ambassador Kobi Walker, the Finance and Accounts Manager, Saidu Mansaray, Sales Manager, Vandy Bockarie, the Human Resources Manager, Georgiana Williams and the Press.

Before presenting the award, the Executive Director of the Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation, Ambassador Unisa Totti Fofanah, stated that for the past four years now they have been keenly keeping track record on the work of certain service providers in the country, at the local, community and national levels and assessing the impact on the lives of the general public in a positive way.

“We decided to identify such individuals and institutions in order to award them for their relentless services to humanity as a way of motivating them to do more and for others to emulate their shining examples,” he stated furthering how their Awards Committee identified the petroleum marketing company as one that did remarkably well in 2021 in the areas of commissioning more Filling Stations in the country and for rendering qualitative services to its numerous customers.  He said the company was therefore awarded as Best Company of the Year-2021 after a rigorous selection process.

Receiving the award, the Chief Executive Officer of NP-SL Ltd, Amb. Kobi Walker, expressed regrets for not sending a representative, stating that they were overwhelmed with work during the festive season. He stated that he is personally impressed that other people are commending the good things that the company is selflessly doing in serving humanity.

“This Award will be source to draw inspiration from to continue doing our best,” the result oriented NP-SL Ltd CEO averred, stating though there are challenges ahead they will continue to ensure that qualitative petroleum products reach every nook and cranny in the country.  He then dedicated the award to the company.

Other members of the Management team also expressed similar sentiments and thanked the organizers for honouring them prestigiously. Taking of snapshots climaxed the brief but interesting programme.
