The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) was featured in the 25th August, 2022 Press Briefing hosted and moderated by the Ministry of Information and Communications in its Conference Hall at Youyi Building.

In her presentation, the Executive Secretary of the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion, Madam Hawa Sally Samai, intimated the audience of the Commission’s mandate and activities implemented since its inception.

She went further to reveal the Commission’s pre-election preparedness activities which, according to her,  will help in addressing tensions that will culminate to violent conflicts in major hot spot areas in the country.

The Executive Secretary underscored the importance of putting into operation a  “ Peace Situation Room” which will have a toll free line  to help in monitoring emerging conflict hotspot areas and how they could be diffused before they degenerate into violent conflicts.

She ended by calling on members present to embrace peace,  be law abiding and to be ambassadors for peace
