Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie has offered land for the construction of the Sierra Leone/ Finland Tourists, Cultural and Educational Center that will serve as a hub to host tourists from Scandinavia, Nordic Europe and other parts of the world including educational professionals who will be giving voluntary services in schools, tertiary institutions and universities in Sierra Leone.
The said piece of land has been occupied and developed by the head of the Sierra Leone’s Consulate Planning Office in Finland, Sorie Obai Kamara since 2013 for the same purpose.
This is geared towards complimenting the frantic efforts of government in tourism promotion as enshrined in Sierra Leone’s Medium Term National Development Plan.
The project aims at bringing tourists into Sierra Leone and to help Sierra Leoneans travel abroad through our Cultural, Tourism and Educational Exchange Scheme.
Against this background, Sierra Leoneans are grateful to Minister Dr. Turad Senesie, the Sierra Leone Consulate Planning Office in Finland, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, the World Bank, Ripsta Culture Worldwide, Kent community and well-wishers.
