In recognition of his immense contributions towards organizing debating competitions and contributing to national development, the Sierra Leone Debating Council (SLDC), Fourah Bay College in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Fourah Bay College Students’ Union Government has on Friday 8th April 2022 presented a plaque in appreciation and recognition of the strides taken by the  Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray’s in promoting education and deepening development. The presentation was made to him at his office on Tower Hill in Freetown.

Handing over the plaque, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fourah Bay College Students’ Union Government, who also doubled at the Head of the delegation, commended the Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority, Ibrahim Brima Swaray, for his tireless contributions towards the development of debate in the country.

He used the opportunity to inform him that the Fourah Bay College Students’ Union Government is faced with numerous challenges which requires the intervention of key stakeholders in the country.

On his part, the Minister of Education, Fourah Bay College Students’ Union Government, Alfred M. Sesay, also applauded the Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray for his contributions to debating activities in the country.

He further appealed to him to support the Students’ Union Government and the Inter-Departmental Debate Champions Competition 2022.

He pointed out that recently Ibrahim Brima Swaray, through his Ibrahim Brima Swaray Foundation, organized a Debate and Quiz competition that took place on the 19th June 2021 at the Karima Complex, Kenema City, Eastern Sierra Leone, where teams from Kailahun and Kono were on top but Team Kenema stood firm to defend its home advantage taking the first positions in the debate and quiz competitions respectively.

Receiving the plaque the Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray, commended the Sierra Leone Debating Council, Fourah Bay College and the Ministry of Education, Fourah Bay College Students’ Union Government for recognizing his efforts.

He said that through his Foundation, which focuses on education, he has been organizing and sponsoring debate and quiz competitions in the country with the strong conviction that such will help to broaden the horizons of students and enhance their research capabilities in the country.

Chief Ibrahim Brima Swaray reaffirmed his commitment that as long as he continues to live he will always continue to promote education in the country.
