Two In Police Net over Illegal Possession of Firearms

Police officers attached at the Moyamba Junction Police Station, over the weekend, arrested one Issa Kamara for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.

Officer Commanding Moyamba Junction Police Station, Inspector Sultan Sewa, confirmed that the suspect, in his mid-40s, is alleged to have participated in robbery attacks within Moyamba District and beyond.

Suspect, Issa Kamara, an ex-combatant, is believed to have spent considerable time in Liberia before returning to his village in Gbapi Junction, Songo Section, Fakunya Chiefdom, Moyamba District, where he is alleged to have been busy terrorizing harmless civilians.

He was arrested together with an accomplice, Zenaida Libi, aged 32, whom Issa Kamara is alleged to have obtained the firearm from.

Both suspects have been taken to Moyamba Divisional Headquarters for safe keeping, while investigation continues.
