A staff of the United States of America Embassy in Sierra Leone, Feimatta Kanneh Doe will today Tuesday 6th April 2021 appear before Magistrate Abu Bakarr Bangura of the Waterloo Magistrate Court in the Western Area Rural District.

Her and other two Accused Persons were charged with two count charges of Conspiracy Contrary to Law and Larceny Contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to one of the particulars of offence on Larceny Contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916 it states that Franklyn Kamara, Abdul Rahman Sesay and Feimatta Kanneh Doe on Thursday the 25th February 2021 at No. 22 Sahr Doe Drive, Grafton Village in the Waterloo Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone did steal one (1) Android Mobile phone marked Samsung Note Three (3) valued at Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Leones (Le 3,500,000/00) said to be the property of Sahr Doe.

On the particulars of offence on Count II of Conspiracy contrary to Law it states that Franklyn Kamara, Abdul Rahman Sesay and Feimatta Kanneh on Thursday the 25th February 2021 at a Car Wash at Grafton in the Waterloo Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime, to wit Larceny.

When the charges were put to them in court for them to take their pleas, the first accused person (Franklyn Kamara) pleaded guilty to all the charges, but the second and third accused persons pleaded not guilty.

The three prosecution witnesses (PW 1, 2 & 3) had testified on previous proceedings. On Tuesday the 30th of March, 2021, when Counsel for the 2nd and 3rd accused persons started to cross-examine the complainant, Sahr Doe, as PW 1, it was revealed that the 3rd accused person (Feimatta Kanneh Doe) was the ex-wife of the complainant (PW 1). Thus, in his wisdom, Magistrate Abu Bakarr Bangura committed the matter to his Chambers to the exclusion of the media for a continuation of the proceedings.

When the proceedings ended in Chambers, it was discovered that the matter was adjourned to the 2nd of April 2021but due to the holidays the matter was slated f or today Tuesday 6th April 2021.

Feimatta was earlier refused bail by the Magistrate to prevent her from tampering with the witnesses as presented by the Police Prosecutor in association with the complainant’s Legal Representative.

What really puzzled the Prosecution and others in attendance Court was how Feimatta’s bail refusal was reversed on the orders of some authorities in high places.

Report further states that the Accused Person was remanded at the Female Correctional Center until later when a release order was produced from some quarters.

The matter was prosecuted by ASP T.M. Bangura in association with Lawyer Quadic Bangura, whilst Lawyer Conteh and Macfoy represented the Accused Persons.
