Parwani Group, the parent company of Kadat Foods & Beverages, has received prominent recognition in the October/November 2026 Sierra Leone edition of Forbes Africa, under its Africa Undiscovered series, highlighting its growing contribution to local manufacturing, employment creation, industrial development and economic diversification.
The publication features the Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Kishore Kumar Parwani and Director, Dimple Parwani, whose leadership has helped transform a modest trading operation into a diversified business enterprise with investments in beverage production, manufacturing, education and other commercial activities.
The recognition forms part of Forbes Africa’s wider examination of Sierra Leone’s investment opportunities, focusing on businesses and entrepreneurs supporting industrial growth, private-sector development and sustainable economic transformation.
Kishore Kumar Parwani’s business journey in Sierra Leone began in 2003 after he relocated from Liberia during the civil war. Starting with limited capital, he identified commercial opportunities in scrap metal left behind by Sierra Leone’s conflict and established a trading operation that provided income-generating opportunities for young people.
“I arrived in Sierra Leone in 2003 after leaving Liberia during the civil war and began trading with limited capital,” Kishore Kumar Parwani recalled.
His initial business involved purchasing scrap materials collected by young people, creating a supply chain that eventually provided the foundation for Parwani Group’s expansion into other sectors.
In 2009, the Group entered beverage production through KADCO, initially concentrating on alcoholic beverages while developing distribution networks nationwide. Recognizing increasing demand for affordable locally manufactured products, the company subsequently diversified into non-alcoholic beverages.
That transition led to the establishment of Kadat Foods & Beverages in 2020, following two years of preparation. The company commenced production in January 2020 and has since expanded its presence in Sierra Leone’s beverage market.
Kadat currently manufactures carbonated soft drinks and bottled mineral water, including products marketed under the Bravely brand. Its beverage portfolio includes Kings Cola, Funtop, Twistup, Lemon Dew and Apple Fizzy, while preparations are underway to introduce Felis fruit juices and strengthen its traditional beverage offering through Vitomo Plus.
According to Kishore Kumar Parwani, the company was among the first private-sector businesses in Sierra Leone to secure financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reflecting its commitment to expanding domestic industrial capacity.
The company’s production operations incorporate multi-stage water filtration systems and in-house laboratory quality-control procedures to maintain product standards.
Beyond manufacturing, Kadat Foods & Beverages is strengthening agricultural linkages by working with more than 150 farmers to source fruit inputs, creating opportunities for local producers and supporting domestic supply chains.
Employment generation remains central to its operational strategy. Kishore Kumar Parwani explained that the company deliberately uses semi-automatic production machinery to preserve employment opportunities rather than relying entirely on automated systems.
“We use semi-automatic machines to increase employment. Fully automated systems would reduce the number of workers we hire,” he stated.
Director Dimple Parwani plays a significant role in overseeing operations, improving efficiency and coordinating the Group’s expansion strategy. Working alongside Kishore Kumar Parwani, she supports product development, workforce advancement and the introduction of manufacturing technologies.
A major component of the company’s growth strategy involves introducing between 28 and 30 additional beverage products within the next 12 to 18 months.
“We plan to introduce between 28 and 30 new products over the next 12 to 18 months, including juices, flavored water variants, basil seed beverages and natural ingredient products,” Kishore Kumar Parwani disclosed.
The company is also developing reduced-sugar and zero-sugar beverages, including products incorporating stevia as an alternative sweetener, in response to changing consumer preferences.
Parwani Group’s diversification extends beyond beverages into consumer goods, industrial production and education. Its investments include an IT and Management College aimed at developing digital and professional skills, alongside plywood manufacturing and proposed packaged food and pharmaceutical production facilities in Sierra Leone.
The Group is also pursuing industrial projects in Liberia, Guinea and Mali, with additional business interests in India, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
To address electricity challenges affecting industrial production, the company is investing in solar energy systems designed to improve operational reliability and reduce long-term energy expenditure.
Kishore Kumar Parwani expressed confidence in Sierra Leone’s investment prospects, emphasizing the importance of sustained commitment and long-term business planning.
“Sierra Leone is an ideal place to work and invest for businesses with long-term plans,” he stated.
The Forbes Africa recognition highlights Parwani Group’s expanding industrial footprint and its efforts to strengthen domestic production, support agricultural development, create employment and position Sierra Leone as an emerging manufacturing destination within the West African sub-region.
