Launching the ‘Win A Trip To AFCON’ Promo…   Pres. Bio Commends Africell for Supporting National Development

One of the leading telecommunications companies, operating within the country, Africell, was the proud recipient of commendations by President Julius Maada Bio, in Kono on the 18th November 2021 for its championing of the construction of a State-of-the-Art Clock Tower in Koidu City named the Diamond Clock Tower.

President Bio was on a working visit to Kono District and profusely praised Africell Sierra Leone while commissioning the Diamond Clock Tower and more particularly for the company’s continuous support to national development. He informed the mammoth crowd that graced the occasion that Africell is a true partner in development, further stating that the company has done a lot and is poised to continuing doing so in order to complement Government’s efforts in enhancing sustainable national development.

He implored others to follow the footsteps of Africell in trying to deepen development saying such could be slow to materialize if we fail to have a formidable Private-Public partnership, highlighting the importance of the Private sector in fostering national growth.

Being the major partner for the construction of the Diamond Clock Tower in Koidu City, the Chief Executive Officer of Africell Sierra Leone, Shadi Gerjawi, informed the audience that the construction of the Diamond Clock Tower was part of the continuation of rolling out their Corporate Social Responsibility, adding that the structure would add to the beautification of the township of Koidu.

The result-oriented and indefatigable Africell CEO assured all that Africell would continue to provide quality services not only limited to  Freetown but accessible in various parts of the country, stating such as all the more reason why individuals must subscribe to the company.

He extended profound thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed, in one way or the other, to make the project very successful.

In another development, which has to do with preparations ahead of the country’s darling Leone Stars participation in the upcoming African Nations Cup Tournament, on the 19th November, 2021 Africell  launched the ‘Win A Trip To AFCON’ promotion with Afrimoney at their Wilberforce headquarters.

Media Manager of Africell-SL, John Konteh, disclosed to media practitioners present that the promotion will last for one month starting from Monday November 22nd 2021.

He furthered by divulging that the weekly draw will avail Africell subscribers the opportunity to win millions of Leones and a fully paid package to travel and watch the 2020 AFCON in Cameroon.

Africell’s Media Manager revealed how there will be a grand draw for one winner every Friday for six weeks. He continued that the six lucky winners will be fully paid for to watch the AFCON in Cameroon.

Konteh also disclosed how the first three weeks will be for the Bronze Category while the last three weeks will be for the Gold Category.

“The six lucky subscribers will watch the three matches Leone Stars will be playing in the group stage in Cameroon. The package includes return air ticket, accommodation and small cash to move around,” Konteh informed.

He said to qualify for the promotion, Africell subscribers must recharge Le1, 500 through Afrimoney, adding that the more a subscriber recharges the more he or she becomes qualify for the draw.

“The Bronze Package amounts to Thirty Three Million Leones (Le33M) while the Gold Package is Fifty Five Million Leones (Le55M),” he also disclosed.

In his contribution, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Benson Bawoh commended Africell for organizing the promotion. He underscored the importance of the partnership that SLFA has entered into with Africell. He pointed out that Africell is the sole and exclusive sponsor of Leone Stars to AFCON.

Bawoh stated: “SLFA has embraced with love and care what Africell has come to offer to the people.” He said the fan fare will serve as additional motivation in Cameroon and called on subscribers to make good use of the opportunity which the telecommunications company is offering.
