The CEO added that the Guaranty Trust Bank is one of the biggest banks in the country in terms of balance sheet size, profitability and also in terms of overall financial intermediation and that the bank has contributed significantly to  economic growth in Sierra Leone.

David Mansaray furthered that Orange Money will have access to Guaranty Trust Bank’s customer base and liquidity, as that will help to ease some of the rigours encountered within their value chain.

“Guaranty Trust Bank is a force to reckon with, as we have seen them come up with more innovative services to support the partnership,” David Samba Mansaray stated.

He assured them that Orange Money will be providing speedy funds for their Bank, continuing that one of the banks they are partnering with already holds more than Le 75 billion from Orange Money stating how they are funds coming from the informal sector.

The Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank, Ade Adebiyi, expressed his delight and appreciation for such a profitable partnership stating that it was not an easy task to accomplish.

“Discussions regarding this partnership started over two years ago, and all of us on board are extremely happy that we have found common grounds to have a fruitful cooperation,” he added.
