AfriMoney & EDSA Unveil “Tross Me” Service

During a well-attended ceremony held on Friday 28th April, 2023 at Africell’s Headquarter on Wilberforce in Freetown, AfriMoney, one of Sierra Leone’s leading mobile money institutions in the country, in collaboration with the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has unveiled “Tross EDSA” with AfriMoney.

The launch of the “Tross EDSA” with AfriMoney will give AfriMoney customers the opportunity to loan EDSA top-up any day, any time at the comfort for their zones to be paid back within 24 hours.

In his opening remarks, the Media Manager for Africell, John Konteh said this service will help Afrimoney subscribers to recharge their meters any day, any time, adding that the “Tross Me” service will serve as a great opportunity for customers, who are in urgent need of EDSA top up anywhere, any day and any time, to loan and pay back within 24 hours.

He stated that Afrimoney customers now have the opportunity to use the service by dialing #161*2# and follow the instructions to access the service.
Addressing the gathering while launching the service, the Managing Director of Afrimoney, Martison Obeng-Agyei, described the launching of the “Tross Me” Service as first of its kind in the country, adding that mobile finance is about empowering people to do what they could not have done in the past of which he said Afrimoney has been working in the regard through its services.

He stated that the launch of the service is an added advantage to their numerous Afrimoney customers across the country to secure EDSA top up on loan at any day and any time at the comfort of their zones.

Martison Obeng-Agyei said that Afrimoney customers without top up on their meters can recharge even at midnight through the EDSA “Tross me” service which they can pay back within 24 hours.

He pointed out that the EDSA ‘Tross Me” service is open to all Afrimoney subscribers that have been using Afrimoney for a minimum of 30 days, adding that eligible customers can access the service by dialing #161*2# and follow the instructions.

The Director concluded by appealing to all who are not using Afrimoney to do so as they are very committed towards giving innovative services to their numerous customers.

On his part, the Chief Finance Officer of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA), Mustapha Sannoh, on behalf of EDSA expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Afrimoney for the partnership between the two institutions which he described as a move in the right direction towards giving access to customers to loan EDSA meter top up.

He said the service is working relentless to aggregate the mobile market by increasing the opportunities for EDSA customers and also considered the Afrimoney platform as one of their best partners.

Mustapha Sannoh, applauded the Management of Afrimoney for the partnership as the Authority realized how strategic the partnership is and for the short time they have partnered he said they have realized a lot of good moves aimed at enhancing quality and affordable services for the people of Sierra Leone.

Closing the ceremony was the official launch of the service by the Managing Director of Afrimoney, Martison Obeng-Agyei.
