It is indeed an incontestable fact that we have certain individuals who are patriots, always ready to selflessly contribute to national development. It was a former President of the United States of America, John F Kennedy, who once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. Of course, it is an open secret that there are some Sierra Leoneans who are at vantage positions to give back to society but for one or two obvious reasons they are refusing to do so.

One exceptional personality who, on countless occasions, has proven to have been positively contributing to national development is indisputably the result-oriented and charismatic Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Young Voices Empire cum Chairman of East End Lions Football Club, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jnr. He has once demonstrated that he is a true patriot.

This young lover of football recently provided cash support to the national side, Leone Stars, ahead of the team’s away AfCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Addressing the technical team and players after their training session at the National Stadium, Ambassador Navo, on behalf of the Management of E.E Lions and the fans wished the squad victory in both their home and away matches. He appealed for unity and togetherness as they are set to represent their country.

“Salone first should be our mantra as citizens and we should do our best in whatever way, whenever we are given the opportunity to serve this country,” he admonished.

He said the cash support and his presence was to compliment the efforts of Government and the Sierra Leone Football Association to motivate the squad that seems very determined to return home over the weekend with victory.

The delegation departed Sierra Leone Wednesday, 12th November, 2020 for Nigeria and will play today 13th November in Benin City.
