Jennifer Thompson Feeds 650 Less Privilege Children in Tikonko

The Chief Executive Officer of No Child Left Behind Initiative, Jennifer Adeshola Thompson, has on Saturday 15th&Sunday 16th January 2022 feed 650 children within the Tikonko Township which include Sawa Section, Mattru on the Rail Section etc. in Bo District, Southern Province. The two day feeding event was part of her usual annual feeding programme undertaken through her, “No Child Left Behind Initiative” as support to the less privileged children in the country took place within the different communities at Tikonko, Bo District.

Speaking during the event, the Chief Executive Officer of No Child Left Behind Initiative, Jennifer Adeshola Thompson, highlighted that over the past years her organization has been celebrating Christmas day with children, adding that in 2020 during their Christmas day celebration the organization fed over 500 children within the Tikonko Township but said due to certain things the organization was unable to undertake the Christmas day feeding in December of 2021.

She pointed out that since the No Child Left Behind Initiative is an organization that has been working for the development and welfare of children she thought it fit to undertake the aforementioned feeding program within the Tikonko Township in Bo District this January as a way of celebrating the New Year with these children.

Jennifer Adeshola Thompson disclosed that her organization, which is working for the development and welfare of children in the country, has been in existence for over 4 years now with branches in some districts in the country, adding that as an organization they have been complementing the efforts of Government towards supporting the development of children in less privilege communities across the country.

She maintained that since the COVID-19 outbreak in the country her organization has been working in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in the country through the distribution of face masks and undertaking coronavirus sensitization campaigns.

The CEO inspired children to take their studies serious underscoring how education is the key to success.  “Education is a process of learning that one goes through in order to become somebody in society”.

She further encouraged them to take the opportunities the organization has offered in order to achieve their dreams and become great people in society who will in return give back to society as she is currently doing.

On his part, the Councilor for Ward 289 Constituency 080 in Mattru on the Rail Section, Lahai Alpha expressed appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of No Child Left Behind Initiative, Jennifer Adeshola Thompson for considering their township for the aforementioned feeding program which he described as not only important but a timely gesture.

He maintained that as stakeholders of the community they sincerely embraced the gesture as it has put smiles on the faces of the children and further pleaded to her that it should not be the end with the feeding program but to also consider these children for future programs that is geared towards the development of the children.

One of the beneficiaries in Sewa Section Tikonko, also extended gratitude to the No Child Left Behind Initiative for celebrating with them as children, furthering that as children they felt very good for considering them as very important people in society.

He said that the feeding program is a remarkable one in their lives as children, assuring them that all what they have learnt in the process of the celebration will be utilized which in turn will benefit them as children.

The event was climaxed with the distribution of 650 goodie bags and 30 balls to the children in all the Sections visited by the Chief Executive Officer of No Child Left Behind Initiative, Jennifer Adeshola Thompson.
