Magistrate Hadiru Daboh Sends G4 Security Guard to 2 Years 6 Months Imprisonment 

For Stealing 8 Bottles of Stout...

Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Magistrate Court No3 on Ross Road in Freetown on the 1st February, 2023 sentenced one Ormsby Cole, a G4 Security Guard to two years and six months Imprisonment for stealing eight foreign extra bottles of stout, property of Sierra Leone Brewery Limited Company.

The Accused, Ormsby, was brought before the Court to answer to one count of Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916. He pleaded guilty.

Before delivering his sentence, Magistrate Daboh said the Accused was primarily employed by G4 Security Company to secure the lives and properties of the Sierra Leone Brewery Company Limited, yet he became their own thief. According to him, such people should not be pardoned with caution and discharge.

He ordered that the exhibits be returned to the Brewery Company.

The matter was prosecuted by S.I.M M George Esq and the Accused was defended by J.A.M.M Amara Esq.
