Miksi Chocolate and Kremela Milk, renowned brands marketed by Premium Divine Trading Company Limited, joined the global community in commemorating International Day of Older Persons in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The event took place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in collaboration with the Residential Elderly Care Foundation, aiming to honor and support the elderly in the community.

The partnership between Premium Divine Trading Company Limited and the Residential Elderly Care Foundation served a dual purpose. Firstly, it continued the company’s ongoing campaign to educate the public about healthy eating habits, providing attendees with the opportunity to taste Miksi chocolate drink and Kremela Milk, thus promoting good nutrition for the elderly and their families.

Secondly, the company generously distributed 150 cartons of Kremela Milk to the Residential Elderly Care Foundation, which, in turn, ensured these nutritious products reached the elderly and their families attending the event.

Milton Fawaz, the Marketing Lead for Diary of Premium Divine Trading Ltd, shared insights about the significance of the International Day of Older Persons. He emphasized that this annual event, celebrated on October 1, aims to raise awareness about the mental and physical health challenges faced by the elderly and the hardships they encounter in their daily lives. Premium Divine Trading, as a responsible company, chose to partner with the Residential Elderly Care Foundation to shed light on these issues affecting older individuals.

Fawaz also highlighted that Premium Divine Trading Company Ltd distributes and markets a range of quality food products, including Onga, Xploza, Kremela, and Yumvita, with Yumvita being an infant cereal enriched with wheat, rice, maize, and wheat variants. He encouraged everyone to choose Premium Divine Trading’s quality food products, especially Miksi chocolate and Miksi Coffee, which provide essential nutrients for a healthy lifestyle.

The event featured representatives from the Residential Elderly Care Foundation, including Deputy Executive Director Teiwoh Momoh Mansaray and Executive Director Karifa Thoronka. They expressed their commitment to celebrating the elderly and ensuring they experience joy and recognition.

Karifa Thoronka also revealed the four communities selected to receive the Kremela Milk donation, based on a thorough assessment conducted by the Foundation in August 2023.

In a poignant keynote address, Dr. James Mohammad Mallah, Deputy Director of Policy and Planning at the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA), commended Premium Divine Trading Company Ltd for its support in commemorating the International Day of Older Persons in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Mallah emphasized the vital role played by senior citizens in society and stressed the theme of this year’s celebration, “Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World.” He underlined the need for elderly individuals to adapt to the digitalization that has transformed our way of life.

The beneficiaries of the event expressed their gratitude for the partnership between the Residential Elderly Care Foundation and Premium Divine Trading Company Ltd, recognizing it as a commendable effort to support the elderly in Sierra Leone.

They emphasized that, despite years of neglect by society, the Foundation and Premium Divine Trading Company Ltd have demonstrated that there are still organizations that genuinely care about older persons in the country.

The event ended with the distribution of donated Kremela Milk to the elderly individuals who graced the occasion, ensuring that these nutritious products contribute to their well-being and health.
