Summa Group signs contract with Westminster for security services

 An agreement was signed between the Westminster Aviation Security Services and SUMMA Airports Limited on the 25th of April 2023 under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation and the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority for the provision of Aviation Security Services at the Freetown International Airport (FNA).

According to the terms of the agreement, both parties should work towards a fruitful working relationship and will join forces to ensure that FNA continues to excel in tandem with the standards and recommended practices stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO).

The ultra-modern airport was commissioned by the GoSL and SUMMA Airports limited on the 3rd of March 2023 during an event that was witnessed by various State dignitaries, representatives from ICAO and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). SUMMA Airports Limited invested $270 million on the project on a Build, Operate and Transfer basis fulfilling one of the strategic flagship projects of the Bio-led Government.

The facilities include a new passenger terminal, a new VIP/ Presidential terminal, a new Air traffic control tower, a new cargo terminal, a new search and rescue/fire fighting facility, a new car park, the restructuring and resurfacing of the existing runway, a new fuel farm and the establishment of a 1.5 megawatts solar farm.
