By Amin Kef Sesay

The names of the top fifty applicants for Housemates Salone will be announced this week out of thousands that went through an audition that was held recently at the AYV Media Empire on Wesley Street in Freetown.

In the wake of the announcement, a voting process will follow in order to get the successful twenty (20) applicants who will finally enter D-House on the 14th October 2020. Voting will take place for two weeks.

Details of the voting process will soon be made known by the organizers, AYV and Africell.

Once the show commences in October it will be streamed live online at Africa Young Voices Media Empire Facebook page, AYV entertainment TV, Africell Sierra Leone Facebook page and on website at www.ayvnews.com. Replay of Housemates Salone Season 2 Audition is now aired on AYV Television Channel 33.

Housemates Salone Season 2 has dominated conversations in various social circles; some vividly recalling certain episodes of Season 1 were as others are predicting that the forthcoming Show is going to be more entertaining and thrilling.

The winner that will emerge in the upcoming Reality TV Show will bag the whopping sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones (Le250M) plus undertaking a round trip to Dubai.

Apart from bagging the Star Prize of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones (Le250M), all other participants will be entitled to their daily allowances of Le100, 000 each whilst they still remain in the House and accumulatively given to them whenever they are evicted.

Interestingly, during a particular stage of the Show, based on the percentage of votes scored by a particular Housemate, such will determine whether he or she will be evicted from the House. Evictions will continue until the ultimate winner emerges.

Housemates Salone is all about Youth Empowerment. When the successful Housemates are in the House they will be assigned to perform certain tasks that will shape their characters, they will be availed the opportunity to learn new skills, improve on existing ones. They will also be emotionally tested, afforded the space to find panacea to certain human problems and do a host of other things.

Furthermore, the Housemates will benefit from widespread exposure as the Show will be watched near and far. Talents will be spotted and vistas of opportunities opened as some of the Housemates would be earmarked to become Brand Ambassadors, movie artists, models etc.

With 20 Housemates from both sexes staying under the same roof for 60 days, physically cut off from the rest of the world, socializing, learning useful skills like cooking, singing, going through trials on how to articulately express themselves in different situations, setting goals they want to achieve, learning how to resolve conflicts, playing games, swimming and so on, will provide the necessary experiences needed to go through life. Whilst in the House, these Housemates will cultivate positive attributes that will help shape their lives in their future endeavours and be positioned to positively influence young viewers.

It must be noted that the Africell number through which members of the public could vote for their favourite Housemates will be announced in due course.

Commendably, AYV and Africell-SL have fused entertainment and youth empowerment to not only give exposure to the participants and its accompanying benefits but to provide a lively show that will keep viewers glued to their TV sets, especially during this period of social distancing, when many Sierra Leoneans and viewers across the world are forced to stay at home if they do not have any important things to do away from home.
