RSLAF to Recruit Specialists

The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) is informing the general public and interested qualified candidates that in support of the Government of Sierra Leone’s Human Capital Development agenda it will undertake the recruitment of a limited number of Sierra Leonean specialists and tradesmen and women across the country in 2022.

According to the RSLAF, interested qualified candidates must apply in their own handwriting to the Brigade Commanders at the following regional locations: Northern Region: 4 Brigade, Teko Barracks, Makeni, Eastern Region: 2 Brigade, Kenema, Southern Regions: 5 Brigade, Gondama Barracks, Bo, Western Region: 3 Brigade, Murray Town Barracks, Freetown, North-Western Region: 15 Battalion, Lungi Barracks, Lungi.

According to the RSLAF, the closing date for application is Friday 14th October 2022 at 4:00 pm and thereafter, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

It was also stated that candidates will have to undertake some form of MEDICAL TESTS at the 34 Military Hospital Lab or EcoMed Lab ONLY at their own expense and the results submitted to the National Recruiting Officer.

According to the RSLAF applicants for Specialist Officer Cadet must be a citizen of Sierra Leone by birth, possess a National Identification Number (NIN) and proof of NIN, be medically, physically and psychologically fit, be free from any criminal conviction by the court of law, possess a specialist degree qualification, be between 25 years and 40 years of age, not be less than 1.68 metres (5 feet 5 inches) and 1.62 metres (5 feet 3 inches) tall for male and female applicants respectively, have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a specialized skill(s) and a practical knowledge of the subject matter, be a member of a credible professional body as an added advantage.

An Applicant  for the position of Tradesmen and Women must be a citizen of Sierra Leone by birth, Possess a National Identification Number (NIN) and proof of NIN, be medically, physically and psychologically fit, be free from any criminal conviction by the court of law, possess at least a recognized Trade Certificate from a credible national institution, be between 25 years and 40 years of age, be less than 1.68 metres (5 feet 5 inches) and 1.62 metres (5 feet 3 inches) tall for male and female applicants respectively.

An applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a specialized skill(s) and a practical knowledge of the subject matter.

  3. Agriculture.
  4. Hospitality.
  5. Bandsmen and Women.
  6. Education.
  7. Maritime.
  8. Technicians.
  9. Information and Communication Technology.
  10. Physical Fitness Instructor.
  11. Public Relation.
  12. Tailoring.

It was stated that all documents will be verified with the appropriate issuing authority and candidates with fake documents will be withdrawn from the process and handed over to the Sierra Leone Police for prosecution.

Again, if any candidate who falsifies or forges his/her results and is discovered even during training or after graduation would be immediately withdrawn or dismissed, Candidates are advised to have a NIN and in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment process.
